こんにちは! I completed Master of Arts Applied Linguistics Specialized in Japanese and Graduate Diploma in Education (Japanese and ESL) in Australia. I am a certified Japanese teacher and have taught in secondary schools in Melbourne for 5 years and have been teaching on italki for over 7 years. Thankfully, my retention rate is very high and it is one of the highest here. So, many of my students have been practicing Japanese with me not only for a few months but for more than a year. I have taught absolute beginner to advanced levels age group from 8 to over 70. I always enjoy having lessons with them and feel grateful to be able to assist with their language skills. Looking forward to seeing you
We can make our lessons in both English and Japanese, depending on your level. I use Genki 1 for Beginners course, Genki 2 for Intermediate 1 course, An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese and Tobira for Intermediate 2 course. For advanced students, the lesson material can be arranged as you please, such as news articles and books. For Beginners to Intermediate 2 course, we will mainly use textbook as well as worksheets and PowerPoint Presentation during the class. At the end of each lesson, I give some homework mainly from the workbook. I sometimes send a worksheet for homework, too. You can complete your homework in your own time and we will check answers in the following lesson.
We will practice sentence structures, grammar points, and vocabulary together. So, you will have a lot of opportunities to create your own sentences in Japanese. Many of my students were absolute beginner when they started learning Japanese with me. So, please do not worry even if you have never studied Japanese before. If you are interested in having lessons with me, I would recommend taking a trial session first so that we can introduced ourselves a little bit, talk about how we structure your future lessons, and practice Japanese together. I believe you can improve your Japanese, too. Let’s start now! I look forward to hearing from you. Happy Japanese learning:)
